Third PrOFS Advisory Committee: interim results and cross-collaboration within working groups

Op 29 maart werd voor de derde keer een adviescomité georganiseerd voor het Prevention Of Fraud in Sport (PrOFS) project van de UGent en KULeuven. Er werden resultaten en inzichten toegelicht door onderzoekers voor een zaal vol vertegenwoordigers van werkveldorganisaties zoals de RBFA, Voetbal Vlaanderen, Basketbal Vlaanderen, maar ook NADO, ICES, Sport Vlaanderen, BOIC, Federale Politie en andere. Binnen werkgroepen werd achteraf samen nagedacht over hoe sportfraude en fraude in sport op basis van wetenschappelijke inzichten best preventief wordt aangepakt. Een succesvolle voormiddag richting de ontwikkeling van een workshop rond individuele morele identiteit, een anti-fraude scan, een aangepast competitiesysteem en een wijziging in de wetgeving die nodig zijn voor een geïntegreerde aanpak voor preventie van sportfraude. On March 29, an advisory committee was organized for the third time for the Prevention Of Fraud in Sport (PrOFS) project of UGent and KULeuven. Results and insights were explained by researchers for a room full of representatives of field organizations such as the RBFA, Football Flanders, Basketball Flanders, but also NADO, ICES, Sport Flanders, BOIC, Federal Police and others. Within working groups they thought about how best to tackle fraud in sport preventively based on scientific insights. A successful morning towards the development of a workshop on individual moral identity, an anti-fraud scan, an adapted competition system and a change in legislation required for an integrated approach to preventing sports fraud.
